Global objective for 2016-2017:
Countries bordering by the Atlantic Ocean and/or the Mediterranean Sea can be affected by the occurrence of an earthquake with tsunami potential. Is spite of the knowledge of this hazard, few measures are being adopted to reduce the impact and to increase the population resilience. Also, these areas are very attractive for tourism, and the sales and tourism agents, and the civil protection and municipalities responsibles, must be involved on awareness and mitigation measures.
Among these measures the awareness of population and visitors is fundamental. But also the design and signaling of existent hazards (for instance, tsunami hazard in the beaches) as well as the design of evacuation routes must be known. Training safety measures is also very important.
