This event aims not only to revive the memory of one of the most significant events in our history, but also to reflect on the present and future of seismic risk prevention and mitigation in Portugal.
On 1 November 2025, the Lisbon Academy of Sciences (ACL), the European Centre for Urban Risks (CERU), and the Portuguese Society for Earthquake Engineering (SPES) will host the first debate in the series “270 Years Since the 1755 Earthquake: Dialogues for the Future”.
This event aims not only to revive the memory of one of the most significant events in our history, but also to reflect on the present and future of seismic risk prevention and mitigation in Portugal.
The event is free of charge, but registration is required.
